Fuel Cell heating: alternative power generation in one- or two-family houses
What to do if you want to be independent of rising electricity prices, but a photovoltaic system is either out of the question or you simply want to generate your own electricity in the darker seasons or evenings in addition to PV? We have already mentioned the advantages of the fuel cell in this article.
In the case of our client from the vicinity of Osnabrück, the Buderus fuel cell Logatherm FC100 was not only the appropriate and logical solution. Mr. D. even went so far as to create extra space for the new heating system!
An effort that has already paid off from an aesthetic: the fuel cell heating is a real eye-catcher:
Mr. D. can truly be proud of his new facility, having spared no effort and created extra space for the new power and heat generator. Why?
The Buderus fuel cell is only 1.75m high, but you should add another 42cm space for the exhaust cascade.
The cellar ceiling, which is too low in this case, did not prevent a skilled master of the house from realizing the dream of having his own power supply: in short, he excavated a hole, skillfully kitted it out in concrete it and voila – the fuel cell could come!
The project is now nearing completion and the next few days will see the first electricity flowing.
We are very pleased about the great commitment which Mr. D. has shown and wish him much pleasure with the new fuel cell heating and his own decentrally generated electricity.
By the way: Mr. D. was able to use the subsidy service of our partner Buderus.
Subsidies for Fuel Cell heating systems ( in Germany)
At 2Degrees, we are not tired of stressing that the funding must be applied BEFORE the purchase – not only for the fuel cell, but also for all other power generators and storage – from the PV system to the electricity storage promotion in the KfW-275 program , including the BAFA promotion of heat pumps or just the fuel cell promotion which turns out to be anything but insignificant with up to € 10,530 at a purchase price of just over € 30,000.
You can find further information about funding for decentralized and renewable energy in our funding tool ( Germany Only ) .
In our login area, we provide a check list for all decentralized energy producers for this purpose, whereby the tax aspect of the fuel cell is also given special consideration.
